At the foot of Amod Ghat lies a beautiful temple of Mahadeva, which is one of the earliest built Kadamba-Yadava dynasty monuments. There are a lot of interesting things about this temple which attract a lot of pilgrims and tourist to this place. This ancient temple is located 65kms from the capital city of Panjim and 12 kms from Mollem Sanctuary. The route to this place is quiet simple and easy. One can drive through the hilly terrain in order to reach there. This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. To your surprise, this temple is carved on one basalt rock which gives it an entirely different look. Another striking feature is the stone ceiling decorated intricately with carved Lotus flower of Ashtakon variety. The remote location of this temple in the clearing deep forest at the foot of the Western Ghats is something which makes it unique and different from the rest of the temples in Goa.
